Badge for today is a new one I picked up recently on holidays in Hobart.

A rectangular enamel badge pinned to a light grey hoodie, part of a burnt orange vest is visible under the hoodie. The badge has HUMAN with the letters some of the various LGBTIQ flag colours.

Returning to work today after a very relaxing six weeks of holidays. I’m not looking at my email or diary until I get in so it will be like a boy’s own adventure. “You’re sitting at your desk staring out the window. Turn to page 34 if you want to read email. Turn to page 42 if you want to go home.”

    Today’s activities included:

Drinking a pot of tea while the cat slept in my lap

    Potting some new plants

A nice lunch with scallops and eye fillet

A long walk along the river

Sitting on the grass beside the river and reading

All of these things were good for both my physical and mental wellbeing.

A cap sitting on grass with sunglasses resting on the brim of the cap. In the background is the lower part of a leg wearing a green shoe. Behind that is a tree on the edge of the river and the Brisbane river. On the other side of the river are apartment buildings with a crane over one and the setting sun is visible behind.

Trying to have a quiet beer and then the judgement arrives. 🍺🐱

A beer in a stubbie cooler on a table with a plant behind it. The cooler has “To baldly go where no man has gone before” and the head of a bald Vulcan. A head of cat is on the right of the beer looking at the camera.A beer in a stubbie cooler on a table with a plant behind it. 🏙️ Checking out the new sky deck mid-week was a good idea, not many people.

🚌 Taking advantage of the 50c cap on fares to go on a little adventure across the city. Bemused at the person who thinks their conversation is so important they need to share it with everyone on the bus for the last 20 minutes.

Afternoon thunderstorm means I was almost caught in the rain. Unfortunately I had to seek shelter and wait it out.

A bar counter with a cocktail with a red cherry in it. A tan covered menu behind it with the name of the bar - Zazu. In the background are beer taps on the other side of the bar.

As chair of the body corporate, I think it’s important to properly prepare for a committee meeting later today.

A straw hat, black A6 notebook with red pen on top, and a schooner of beer on a table. In the background is a large window with a bar visible inside.

One of the many upsides to being on holidays is I can go earlier on my afternoon walk and be home by 4:30pm. This allows a beer at 5pm. I’m all about a balanced lifestyle.

✈️ Boarding for flight 2 of 2 for the day. Get to see the cat soon 😻
