There are so many useful discussions by the micro.blog community and it’s one of the big reasons I’m enjoying it so much since signing up earlier in the year.

While I was on holidays recently I was giving some thought on changing my workflow setup for personal projects, in particular for things that are a bit more than a todo list will suffice for.

Serendipitously @ningkantida posed a question about buying Tot on sale, which kicked off a great conversation. I’d seen @jean mention it before so I’d already been looking at it and @crossingthethreshold explanation of how he uses it convinced me.

It’s been super useful to me and completely changed how I tackle small personal project planning, which I had a habit of overcomplicating.

TL;DR micro.blog conversations are good.

The problem with wearing a hat everywhere is that most places don’t have somewhere to leave it.

I either have to keep it on, put it on an empty chair if there is one, pop it under the chair, or balance on my lap.

I can only name one place in Brisbane that has ever offered to hang it up for me.

Picked up the latest Phantom comic and I just want to go home and read it but sadly work must happen.

I’m enjoying both House of the Dragon and Rings of Power but the former is definitely the better of the two. I think the jumps ahead in years has helped it in terms of pace and the feeling things are happening. Rings is a slow burn with disparate plot lines that works against it in some ways. 📺

How does anyone start out with establishing an online identity these days when so many usernames are already in use?

I have a very common name and periodically look for a new username I can use across platforms. I chose meandering for micro.blog because I already had a relevant domain name but don’t want to use it elsewhere.

Generally it becomes all too hard and I give up. However, last night I might have stumbled across something but will wait a few days and see if I still like it.

I do love this local crazy cat street art. Makes me smile whenever I walk by.

Walking home and made a little detour into one of my favourite little bars.

If it’s called a Vitamin C it’s healthy right?

Yes/Yes

A spritz made from Citrus and Cognac House Liquor, Prosecco and Grapefruit soda. Next to a mushroom shaped light on a white marble countertop

I need to get some white gloves for a work thing and most places I’ve asked have given a look that slides from “What, why -> no -> actually let me think where might”.

I think I’ll be buying online.

I didn’t even need to look to know there was a bird on the balcony, the cat’s stare was enough of a giveaway.

It’s been a busy day and I’ve been very much looking forward to relaxing on the couch with The Cat. Madam was there before me watching tv so I decided that would be my submission to the A Day in the Life Challenge. 🐈 Brisbane, Australia 9:45pm 14/10/22
