A nearby building site is noisily driving piles into the ground. They can do this on a Saturday because developers have convinced council they must complete their projects as fast as possible. Large donations don’t hurt when making that argument. Capitalism is good or something.

A recent podcast discovery is @hemisphericviews. I listened to one after seeing it referenced on micro.blog and thought “yep, I’m going to enjoy this”. I’m now working my way through older podcasts. The right blend of content, interesting info and witty repartee between hosts.
A lot of people on Mastodon still seem to be obsessed with the bird site, source content from it or are auto cross posting. Meanwhile, I’m constantly adding to my filters to try and block any reference to it. Latest addition was adding “RT” as a keyword filter. Fingers crossed.
Apart from the great wines, one thing I really like about my wine club is that they send an email advising what wines are in the next box and give you four days to change or add. I think that’s such a great service. Being able to hit the send now button is also pretty good! 🍷
