Finished The Diplomat on Netflix.

Good pacing, underlying story isn’t overly complex and links everything together. I’ve seen comparisons to West Wing but I think it’s closer to Madam Secretary. If you liked those or more recently The Night Agent or The Recruit on Netflix you should enjoy this. 📺

Checking out Bluesky. Not sure I’ll use it actively but if nothing else I’ve reserved my username. Now to find some people to follow.

Spoiler free thoughts on the final episode of Star Trek Picard.

Nice touch having Walter Koenig do the voice of his son, the federation president.

Worf has had the best lines throughout the season.

That final scene with the TNG crew, a perfect way to end.

Watch the credits.

Brilliant.

🍸 Clocked off and going to a long lunch on a Tuesday. How decadent.

👴 I appear to have reached that stage of life where I straighten up, hold my lower back and sigh “oh dear”.

I count myself very fortunate to live close to the Brisbane river where I can find a patch of grass and enjoy a pleasant end to the Easter long weekend.

Front third is lush green grass then the Brisbane river through the middle. Apartment buildings and the City Cat (ferry) terminal are the other side with blue sky and patchy white clouds.

🚶 Time for a walk along the river to wind out the long weekend.

🫖 Washed the car, which is my one chore for the day. Now for a cup of tea, hot cross bun and catch up on some rss feeds.

I spotted Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy as I was flicking through Netflix last night.

I’ve seen it before but long enough ago that although parts were familiar I couldn’t remember all of it and thoroughly enjoyed the rewatch. I’d forgotten how good Gary Oldman is as George Smiley.

Some spoiler free thoughts on Star Trek Picard S3E8.

My two favourite lines:

“Is this a rescue mission or a continuation of the torture”

“Personal space is a right”

My favourite scene was the conference room, complete TNG fan service and I loved it. 🖖🏻📺
