This old gas stripping tower is along the Brisbane river in West End. The tower was used in the removal of tar and ammonia from raw coal gas. Made in 1912, it’s heritage listed and the only one of its kind left in Australia.

The circle of life:
Me this morning “I need to go to bed early tonight”
Me after dinner “I might just read for a bit then go to bed”

A polar blast delivering a single digit cold snap to most of Eastern Australia is the perfect reason to pull out some fandom winter gear a little earlier than normal.
Tonight, my feet will be kept warm by hand knitted woollen TARDIS socks and my head by a police box beanie.
“Imagine losing your rudder out at sea and sending out a distress call. And then the largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship in the world comes to your rescue.”
