Star Trek

๐Ÿ“บ Finished watching Star Trek: Discovery (Season 5, 2024) โ˜…โ˜…ยฝ

A rectangular image with a review of the television series Star Trek: Discovery (Season 5). The show poster is on the left and the review on the right side. Across the bottom is a rating of Poor Okay Good Great with Okay selected. The review reads: A life long Star Trek fan, Iโ€™d been struggling to stay with this show in the previous two seasons. Itโ€™s definitely one which has had fans very clearly in the love or hate camps. Maybe knowing it was the final season meant the writers aimed higher and wanted to give a sense of completion but this season was an improvement on the previous two and I came to enjoy it again. All things considered, not as good as the first two seasons but a satisfactory conclusion.

I always give myself a Christmas present and this watchband is going on the shortlist for this year. ๐Ÿ––๐Ÿป www.amazon.com/Star-Trek…

I just need a few people (20,000) to get together and chip in a few dollars each and Iโ€™d have a brilliant Christmas present in the shape of a Starfleet Communicator from Star Trek: The Original series, courtesy of this memorabilia auction. ๐Ÿ––๐Ÿป

This Lego Star Trek Voyager intro is brilliant. The creativity is a joy to see. ๐Ÿ––๐Ÿป

Star Trek: SNW Subspace Rhapsody was a great bit of fun! The mix of serious and silly this show continues to deliver is one of its strengths. The emotional turmoil of Spock and Laโ€™an really shone through and was so consistent with their story arcs. As was the lighter side of Number One. ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ––๐Ÿป

Second viewing of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds S2E7 Those Old Scientists. The crossover with Lower Decks was so well done and I loved the references to Enterprise NX-01 and crew. Had touches of Lower Decks humour without being out of character for the SNW crew. I want that recruiting poster! ๐Ÿ––๐Ÿป๐Ÿ“บ

I really enjoyed Star Trek: Strange New Worlds S2E6. Celia Rose Gooding as Uhura is so good and it was great to see a story focus on her. The interplay between Pelia & Number One, Chapel and Spock, a farewell to Hemmer. That end scene of Uhura, Kirk and Spock was just the best. ๐Ÿ––๐Ÿป๐Ÿ“บ

Very disappointing news about Star Trek Prodigy not only being cancelled but removed from the Paramount+ platform altogether.

Original series for whatโ€™s possibly one of the strongest collections of IP on the platform and itโ€™s removed as a tax write-off. Dumb. ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ––๐Ÿป

Some spoiler free thoughts on Star Trek Picard S3E8.

    My two favourite lines:

โ€œIs this a rescue mission or a continuation of the tortureโ€

    โ€œPersonal space is a rightโ€

My favourite scene was the conference room, complete TNG fan service and I loved it. ๐Ÿ––๐Ÿป๐Ÿ“บ

Every episode of Star Trek Picard S3 has fan service in it.

Episode 4: โ€œAdmiral you have the conโ€, TNG music starts, Picard sits in the middle chair, does the uniform shirt pull down, gives a heading then the finger point โ€œengageโ€.

Perfect callback to TNG and I loved it.๐Ÿ––๐Ÿป๐Ÿ“บ
