Interrupting my holiday to help out at graduation ceremonies. Today’s badge was made by one of the casual staff. He does it as a hobby/small sideline.

An enamel badge pinned to a green and white check jacket. The badge is a black mortar board with red tassel and a rolled white parchment under.

I haven’t worn a watch this week while I’ve been on holidays and also turned off most notifications on my phone. It’s been so good to disconnect.

I don’t think winter is done with Brisbane yet but it’s nice for now to have 21°c at 4:30pm and being able to walk along the river in shorts and long sleeve T-shirt.

Whenever I give all my window and door screens a good wash and clean I’m reminded of how dad wouldn’t get screens on the windows growing up as “they capture too much dust”.

Trying to decide what to link to for movie titles when posting and there are altogether too many options - Rotten Tomatoes, Letterboxd, TMDB, Trakt, to name a few. Not using imdb as it’s a trash fire. Wikipedia might be the simplest option. 🍿📽️

I think the cat is suffering from sensory overload the way her head is spinning. Watching the currawong call out from a neighbouring building, the pigeons cooing the other way and then a noisy bunch of myna birds swooping around.

Made a list of all the things I want to get done around home next week so I don’t get to the end of my holiday in a few weeks and start trying to do everything in two days. Let’s see how I go 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thought I’d lay on the bed and read for a while but it’s hard to focus when you’re being stared at.

A black and white tuxedo cat sitting on top of a blue blanket staring at the person taking the photo.

Projects really do think they’re more important than anything else you might be doing, making them the worst offenders at booking over the top of existing meetings or lunch breaks. “I can’t find another time so I had to book over your lunch blockout” gets an instant decline.

A warmish winter night so I’m out on my balcony just relaxing and enjoying the night air. A shame the night air is carrying the noise of the guy in the apartment building nearby screaming at the footy on his tv every two minutes.
